6 July BOR begins final leg of their involvement in the High Lakes stabilization project by George McQuiston General Information 0 0 Comment 2178 The BOR (Bureau of Reclamation) crew was packed in to Deer lake to begin the final stage of the High Lakes Stabilization project by removing the outlet works at Deer Lake. Swift creek drainage is closed for the 2010 season so that this project can be wrapped up and public safety during this project has been of paramount concern for all the agencies involved. Minimum impact on the resource has also been high on the priority list for this project and we believe those involved have been taking both issues very seriously. Because of the Swift Creek Drainage closure, those who normally like to visit Farmer’s Lake and the Timothies basin will have to consider other adventures in the High Uinta wilderness area, such as Yellowstone, Rock Creek, Lake Fork, and Uintah canyons.
