Book Cliffs Bull Elk Hunts
We
have trophy Bull Elk hunting in the Book Cliffs. This is exceptional big game
trophy hunting and we are sure you won’t be disappointed. If you are interested
in trophy Bull Elk hunting, then this fully guided Book Cliffs hunt is for you!
Flying J outfitters began in the Book Cliffs with its founder Lawny Jackson
clear back in 1970 and although many wildlife laws and policies have changed,
one thing still remains the same in this remote Northeastern section of Utah
and that is Big Bulls still hang out there.
Our experienced staff has hunted that country extensively and knows the country
and the movements of the elk that inhabit the book cliffs road less area. Your
book cliffs hunt will begin at the trail head with a short horse orientation,
packing and cargoing your hunting gear and heading off by horseback and mule
train on about an hour and a half journey into some very remote and rugged country
whose inhabitants include elk, mule deer, black bear, coyotes, forest grouse
and a whole host of other wildlife.
Once
we arrive at camp and you check in with the hotel front desk, we will have a
bell hop deliver your bags to your deluxe suite….ok we unload the mules
and put your bags in your wall tent…but it sounded good didn’t
it? Depending on if you are a day before the season opens or during the middle
of the season, we will give you chance to settle in while we deal with the pack
stock and prepare for the evenings meal that should fill even the emptiest belly.
A short orientation and discussion about the area and the places we intend to
hunt the next day and it is off to sleep and dream about bugling bulls and rattling
antlers. Once you finally get to sleep the next sound you should hear besides
your tent mates snoring should be the sound of your fire being stoked by one
of our early rising guides and them offering you a hot cup of coffee to get
you started on a hunt we believe should create memories to last a lifetime.
After a hot hearty stick-to-your-ribs breakfast we will head out on horseback
right at daylight. Don’t get too excited for the late start now because
we are camped smack in the middle of trophy elk country and we would hate to
ride past elk in the dark trying to find elk. Our Book cliffs road less area
elk hunts consist of all the things that make hunting great: horses, mules,
walls tents, wood burning stoves and lots of game. Give us a call or shoot us
an email for more details on this classic back country elk hunt. This Book Cliffs
road less area for trophy bulls can be hunted with archery, rifle or muzzle loader

Wasatch Mountain Bull Elk Hunts
Utah
is in the “good old days” of elk hunting right now. The Utah Division
of Fish and Game has managed for true trophy quality elk hunting. We are lucky
enough to be licensed to guide in one of those very special areas called the
Wasatch Mountains Limited Entry Area. We hunt the eastern part of that area
in a section accessible only by foot or horseback.
We will meet you at the trail head and your hunt begins with about a one and
a half hour horse ride into camp which puts you right in the middle of some
of Utah’s best elk hunting country. Our camp consists
of
wall tents with cots and foam pads and wood stoves - because the nights can
get chilly. Depending on weather and game movement we should be able to locate
several mature bulls during your Utah elk hunt in the Wasatch Mountains Limited
Entry Area.
Hunts are conducted either on foot or horseback depending on where we are
headed that day. It is very rare to see anyone else during this particular hunt.
Your hunt includes packing in and packing out of camp, field care of your elk
and packing to your vehicle at the trail head, hearty meals and 2-on-1 guiding.
Hunt does not include personal gear, taxidermy or gratuities.
