Spring is in the air!! The crew at Flying J have been building fences, working colts and getting gear ready for the upcoming season. We are expecting 3 mule babies within the next 2 weeks and can’t wait to meet them. Spring is always a great time of year for us and the critters. Winter is sometimes a long drawn out thing. We all work hard in this crew and winter is a bit of a break for us all. But just like us, the critters get cabin fever as well and come springtime they are ready to get back at it and get to the mountain.

We are offering some new trips for summer 2015 that we are very excited about. Contact us for more details and pricing on all of these special trips.

· Intro to fly fishing The trip consists of a 4-day wilderness horseback camp with a professional fly fishing instructor/guide. Learn to fly fish on some of the best water in the state. This is world class fly fishing at its best. Fish high altitude lakes that sit in pristine mountain wilderness settings. This trip is sure to please even the beginner fisherman (or woman).

· All-women wilderness horseback trip This is a 3-4 day trip into the wilderness country with just women/girls (no men/boys allowed). Get away from it all and let the fresh mountain air and nighttime camp fire relax your worries away. The guides and wranglers are also women on this trip. This is a fun "get away" trip for you girls out there who need a break!

· Survival class We have hooked up with some instructors who are teaching true wilderness survival. Come out with us on a 3-day adventure and let the instructors teach you how to survive in the wild. This is an awesome class that shows both basic and advanced survival skills. You never know, what you learn in this class could save your life one day.

· Mountain Lion and Bear We are now offering mountain lion and bear hunts with hounds. We are currently booking for the Dec. 2014 – Mar. 2015 season. For those of you who love the thrill of the chase but don't want the kill, we are offering pursuit trips from Nov. 2014 – May 2015. These pursuit trips offer great photography opportunities.

2014 Summer Camping, Fishing and Horseback Riding Adventures

We had a fantastic summer and fall season in 2014 and we would like to thank everyone who helped make it a truly great year for us. To all the clients and everyone else who had a part....Thanks!

We were all over the Uintas in 2014, having the privilege of working out of 6 different trailheads. We had a great time and loved sharing the wilderness with all of you via our Facebook pictures and updates; and the fishing was great.

We will again be doing our horseback rides in 2015, starting Memorial Day, and our wilderness horseback trips, as well.

I received a phone call today from the USFS and the trail closures in Lake Fork and Yellowstone drainages have been lifited. We look forward to seeing you at the trail head. If you don't have your own horses come on a horseback ride adventure with us.

First Backcountry Trip of the Season

We did our first backcountry trip of the season over the weekend to 5 Points Lake in the Yellowstone Drainage. There is still plenty of snow in the higher elevations. Lots of drifts most of which are over 4 feet high. We even got about 3 inches of fresh snow on Saturday night. In a few more weeks if temperatures continue to warm up the drifts should be all gone.

Uinta Mountain Trail Closures

The USFS is flying in supplies to do some High Lake stabilization this weekend and all trail heads in the Lake Fork and Yellowstone Drainages will be closed to all hikers and horseback riders. This closure is expected to be lifted by the first of the week.
