Flying J was started in 1970 by Lawny Jackson guiding in the bookcliffs and grew the businesss to include other drainage's of the High Unitas wilderness. It seems Lawny’s most loyal guide actually turned out to be his granddaughter Alesha and even though Lawny has passed his legacy lives in the love of the Bookclifs and Uintas through his grandaugther and the new owners who purchased the business in 2007.
